Proverbs 2:20-22 (ESV)

20 So you will walk in the way of the good

and keep to the paths of the righteous.

21 For the upright will inhabit the land,

and those with integrity will remain in it,

22 but the wicked will be cut off from the land,

and the treacherous will be rooted out of it.

In contrast to sinful routes that lead to death, the one who puts wisdom into practice walks along the good paths that God designed for the righteous. God has allowed men and women to dwell on earth and enjoy its blessings, but many have existed selfishly and rejected his authority over their lives. Though it may seem like they are prospering without the Lord, there will come a day when God makes all things right. Those who live in darkness will be removed from the benefits of the land. Only those who are upright will be allowed to remain. The Lord himself will cut off the ungodly, and he will ultimately restore all things to the way they are supposed to be. Until then, don’t grow weary of doing what you know the Lord has called you to do. God’s timing is perfect, and he will straighten everything out one day very soon.
