Proverbs 22:24-25 (ESV)
24 Make no friendship with a man given to anger,
nor go with a wrathful man,
25 lest you learn his ways
and entangle yourself in a snare.
The woman who is easily provoked becomes enraged about relatively unimportant things, ends up making foolish decisions in her moment of passion, and is described in Saying 3. The wrathful woman is easily set off by inconvenient circumstances. Her inner person burns with fury. When she is put out, she makes sure that someone pays for it. The wise woman should not hang out with the one prone to anger. The thoughts and ways of the heated woman are contagious, and she spreads her discontented attitude to those with whom she associates. When her bitter ways infect those around her, they too become caught in a trap of dissatisfaction. How do you respond when things don’t go the way you hoped or planned? Do you get frustrated and angry, or do you trust in God’s providence to guide the details of your life? Remember, God is in control, and you’re not. If you believe that, then live like it.
