Proverbs 24:10-12 (ESV)
10 If you faint in the day of adversity,
your strength is small.
11 Rescue those who are being taken away to death;
hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.
12 If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,”
does not he who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it,
and will he not repay man according to his work?
When faced with a crisis, according to Saying 25, the depth of one’s character is revealed. Those who are genuinely committed to the Lord become apparent during times of hardship.When the righteous woman discovers that the guiltless are wrongly being led to death, she must exercise courage and stand up for those who have no voice. God is not pleased when justice is perverted, and as his followers, we should not sit idly when we are aware of wrongdoing. To get involved and protect the innocent, we must be willing to risk our own personal peace and safety. Realizing the potential for trouble, some will claim they weren’t aware of tragedy. But God sees all, even our hearts. If we neglect to help those who are unjustly suffering, God will neglect to help us when we are in distress. Choose to stand up for the persecuted today, even if you will be inconvenienced as a result.
