Proverbs 30:24-26 (ESV)
24 Four things on earth are small,
but they are exceedingly wise:
25 the ants are a people not strong,
yet they provide their food in the summer;
26 the rock badgers are a people not mighty,
yet they make their homes in the cliffs;
Four of God’s creatures are quite small yet exercise much wisdom. The first are the tiny ants. Although they clearly have no might over their enemies or the forces of nature that stand against them, they cleverly work together as a community and have food year round. They also recognize that the time is coming when they will not have access to the same resources they have today, and they prepare for the difficult days ahead. The second, the small badger, lives among the rocks. This animal has suction type discs on the pads of its feet to keep it from slipping and falling. Even though they don’t have strength, these creatures remain safe by shrewdly employing the tools they have been given for survival and dwelling in a place where their enemies aren’t able to live. What gifts or resources has God given you? Use what you have to maximize your efficiency for the God’s kingdom today.
