Proverbs 3:15-16 (ESV)

15 She is more precious than jewels,

and nothing you desire can compare with her.

16 Long life is in her right hand;

in her left hand are riches and honor.

Wisdom is worth more than riches. Though money can buy “stuff,” none can buy a relationship with God, good character, or the ability to live uprightly. The things most prized are priceless. “Precious” also implies that wisdom is rare. Many are foolish, but few know and follow after wisdom.The right hand of wisdom holds long life, and her left hand holds riches and honor. Life, on the right, is above wealth and dignity, yet they are the byproducts of a godly life. Even the scoffer will concede that those who live consistently with what they believe are worthy of respect.Whom do you consider wise? Do you desire to be numbered among the wise? Know that nothing in this life compares with wisdom, and be willing to forsake all to find her.You will not be disappointed.
