Proverbs 2:9-11 (ESV)

Then you will understand righteousness and justice

and equity, every good path;

10 for wisdom will come into your heart,

and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;

11 discretion will watch over you,

understanding will guard you,

Because God gave the son wisdom, he could now discern between good and evil. The Hebrew word translated “path” describes the tracks left when wagon wheels moved through the mud. When those wet ruts dried out and hardened, a path remained.Wisdom leads the hearer down the right track. When a soul surrenders to God, the Lord graces her with a new heart. She is changed from the inside out and longs for the good way. As her new character matures, she makes better decisions with the choices she is presented with. Once on a path, it can be extremely difficult to get out of the rut. Bad habits are tough to break, but when we call out to God, he can lift us up, reposition us, and give us a new start.Why not get on a new and good track in one area of your life today? May your first steps lead to a lasting pattern of right behavior.
