Proverbs 3:33-35 (ESV)
33 The Lord’s curse is on the house of the wicked,
but he blesses the dwelling of the righteous.
34 Toward the scorners he is scornful,
but to the humble he gives favor.
35 The wise will inherit honor,
but fools get disgrace.
God blesses the one who is righteous, including all that he has. At the same time, God rejects the wicked along with all that is valuable to him. God will mock those who mock the righteous. The wicked will reap what he sows as everything takes place under the watchful eye of the Lord. God will right all wrongs. The righteous who were mocked by the wicked will be graced with God’s favor. Those who are wise will be given much from God, but fools will be associated with failure, especially as they leave this earth empty handed. Jesus asked, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?” How would you respond to Jesus’ question? What on earth is worth the price of your soul? If anything is keeping you from wisdom today, choose to let it go.
